Swedeen, Wilfred Age 80, formerly of Minneapolis, passed away 1/11/17 in Springfield, OR. Preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Virginia; daughter, Peggy; brother, Don; brother-in-law, Dick. Survived by his wife, Marlene; sons, Robert (Elizabeth), Todd (Kellie); 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings; further survived by other relatives and friends. Wilfred was the first Mayor for the city of Blaine, MN; he took office at the age of 26. He was a devoted member of St. John's Church in Palm Desert, CA. where he also served as the President of the church counsel. Funeral service 11:00 am Monday (2/27/17) at Sunset Funeral Home (2250 St. Anthony Blvd. NE) Visitation 10:00 am until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
