Arneson, Lyle Bryan Sept. 5, 1925 - February 12, 2017 Lyle passed in the company of his family on Sunday, February 12, 2017 after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his brother Donnie and two sisters, Irene and Betty, his daughter-in-law Carol Arneson and his beloved wife Joan Arneson. He is survived by his son Bryan and daughter Kris (Clint Cutler) and grandsons Andrew and Ben Cutler as well as his blended family with Joan: daughters Terri Togstad (Paul Peterson) and Mary Togstad, sons Jim Togstad (Sandy) and Joe Togstad (Kim) and their children, Allison and Brianne Schwarz, Jourdan and Spencer Togstad, Michael and Danny Peterson, Broten and Willy Togstad, McKenna and Katie Togstad. Lyle grew up in Mayville, ND. He joined the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1943. After leaving the service he attended Mayville State Teachers College where he met and married his first wife Bev. He was a teacher, coach (basketball and baseball) and high school principal in Minnesota, North Dakota and Oregon. He then changed careers, joining State Farm Insurance Company. He enjoyed his time as an agent, manager and executive with State Farm over his 40 year career. Lyle loved to play golf and tennis, and was an avid water and snow skier. He also enjoyed going on cruises or "up to the lake" with Joan and family. He will be remembered as a faithful member of the Mount Olivet community. Memorials preferred to Mayville State University and Mount Olivet Lutheran Church. Memorial service will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 at noon at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave., Minneapolis, MN. Visitation begins at 11:00 am, preceding the service.
