Skluzacek, Thomas L. (Tom) Tom departed for his final pheasant hunt in the great fields of the beyond on Friday, May 23rd after a valiant 20 month battle with cancer. Tom, age 64, grew up in the Northfield area and spent his adult years in the Twin City areas of Prior Lake and Lino Lakes. He and his wife retired to their lake home in Ottertail County in July of 2011. Tom had a forty year career in construction/demolition at Carl Bolander & Sons in St. Paul after serving in the United States Army in Vietnam. He has been a union member of Local 132 for over 40 years, and was an avid pheasant hunter; fisherman and he enjoyed taking horseback hunting trips in Colorado and Montana. He is survived by his faithful companion, Coco, his beloved wife, Joanna (Lano/Dunn) and their four loving children, Amy Skluzacek Albrecht (Ken), Brian Skluzacek (Alicia Runyon), Tammy Dunn Heil (Jim) and Tarry Dunn Graziotto (Raymond) as well as four cherished grandchildren, Tanner Albrecht, Kailey & Nico Graziotto and Jonah Heil. Additionally, he is survived by brothers and sisters Roger Skluzacek (Julianna), Len Skluzacek (Deb), Paul Skluzacek (Mary), Tim Skluzacek (Kimm), Cathy Skluzacek, Carol Skluzacek Leahy (Joe), Barbara Lano, Vicky Lano Powers, Debbie Lano Jones Hassinger (Peter), Judy Lano, Terry Lano (Krissy McCaughey), Lisa Lano Raser (Doug) and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Meeting up with him on this final journey are his superior hunting dogs, Skeeter, Ginger & Penny as well as his previously deceased brothers, Russ and Steve and his parents Leonard and Lonjean Skluzacek of Webster. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 1st from 12 to 2 PM at White Funeral Home, 201 5th St. NW, Lonsdale, MN. Luncheon to follow at the American Legion, also in Lonsdale.
