Merz, Charles E. "Charlie" Age 85 of Minnetonka on December 3, 2013. A graduate of Monticello High School, he served in the U.S. Army in Japan. Following Army service, he worked for the Reading RR in Reading, PA before returning to Minnesota where he worked for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. Charlie's sense of humor is going to be missed by all of those who have met him. Charlie is survived by a brother, Evan B. Merz, nephews, David and Christopher Merz, and niece, Melanie Merz. As Charlie requested, there will be no services; memorials can be to donor's choice. Following cremation, interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Monticello, MN.
