Heinselman, Frances B. Age 90, of Kenyon, MN and formerly of Falcon Heights, MN, died on 06/05/2013 at Reflections Care Suites in Northfield due to complications from leukemia. Frances was born on March 22, 1923 to James & Geraldine (Vogel) Brown in St. Paul, MN. On September 18, 1942, Frances married Miron "Bud" L. Heinselman. While raising her family in Grand Rapids, MN, she was a church organist and taught piano lessons. She also accompanied her husband on many research and recreational canoe trips into the BWCAW and Quetico Provincial Park wilderness areas. She worked with Miron lobbying in Washington DC for legislation preserving the wilderness character of the BWCAW. After Miron's death in 1993, she and her children completed and published his book, The Boundary Waters Wilderness Ecosystem. She volunteered full-time at Langton Place (Presbyterian Homes of Roseville) for 23 years. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Miron, her parents, and her sister, Evelyn Bauman. She is survived by her children, Ann and her husband, Allen Stolee, of Kenyon, MN and Russell and his wife, Barbara Heinselman, of Milford, NH; grandchildren, Lauri and husband, Joshua Ashford, and Craig Heinselman; four great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Skye Ashford and Cheyenne and Cole Heinselman; sister, Beverly and husband, Orrin Sechter; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. Per her request, no services will be held.
