Johnson, Gerald G., Jr. (Jerry) Age 72, passed on January 12, 2016. Preceded in death by his father, Gerald G. Johnson; mother, Norma and brother, Bruce. Survived by his nephews Eric and Nick. Jerry grew up in Columbia Heights and graduated from Minnehaha Academy in 1961, lettering in football and hockey. He also attended Luther College and the University of Minnesota. Gaining early skills and experience at WCCO, Jerry went on to have a successful career as an independent broadcast station broker. While effective in his business pursuits, Jerry will always be known for a great sense of humor, contagious smile and simple enjoyment in the company of friends and family. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending many fall mornings in the comfort of a duck blind. Jerry knew how to enjoy all the people and places he encountered, always leaving a memorable impression. He will be greatly missed by those who delighted in his company. The family would like to thank Peggy, Angie, Harry and Bouldwin for the love and care they gave Jerry at home. Memorial Service 11 AM Friday January 22nd, with visitation beginning at 10 AM, at Nativity Lutheran Church, 3312 Silver Lake Rd NE, St. Anthony.
