Ann Frost Sobraske

Sobraske, Ann Frost 60, St. Louis Park, died peacefully on Tues., July 24, 2007 after a spirited and courageous 3 ½ year battle with Melanoma Cancer. She was a true warrior in her fight to survive and endured experimental treatment in hopes of helping to find a cure for others. She is continuing her fight with the donation of her body to the U of M. Ann Linder (Frost) Sobraske was born on Sept. 9, 1946, to Charles F. and Katherine (Thro) Frost, she was the second of ten children. Ann was a 1964 graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel Academy and attended the U of WI, Madison. On April 14, 1972 she was married to Ed Sobraske at St. John's Catholic Church in Mankato. Ann was a dedicated and loving mother, daughter and sister, generous friend. She loved family and friends initiating gatherings and parties at every opportunity. It was impossible to meet her and not become an instant friend. Ann's tremendous energy and infectious love for life was undiminished by her battle with Melanoma. Ann loved the beach, the sun, the water and Yard Sales. Most precious to her was time spent with her three sons, her beloved grandchildren, her nieces and nephews and her many friends. Ann volunteered her time at women's shelters and was always ready with a helping hand or a word of support for anyone who needed her. Ann is survived by sons, Ben & Chris Sobraske and their father Ed Sobraske (all of Mpls); son, Tom (Myra) Reuter-their children, Joe and Ava; by her parents, Charles and Katherine Frost of Mankato; by her siblings Charles (Diane) Frost-their children Cora (Jim) True-Frost and Andrea Frost; Steven Frost-his children Michelle (Sean) Plank, Daniel Frost, Logan Frost; Mark (Jennifer) Frost-their children, Tony Frost, Tyler (Jelena) Frost, Nicholas (Nicole) Frost; Rick Frost-his children Joe Frost and Kim (Joe) Tourand; Mary (Summer) Frost; Katherine (Rick) Iverson of -their children Scott (Keiko) Hiniker, Brenna & Riki Iverson; Jane (Eric) Burgan-their children Kate and Nicole Burgan; and Chris (Lisa) Frost-their children Matthew, Kayla and Amanda Frost and Elizabeth (Martin) Vaage their children Nick and Kathryn Vaage. Ann was preceded in death by one infant son, Paul, her maternal grandparents, John Clifford Thro and Cora Linder Thro, her paternal grandparents, Charles F. Frost and Delphia Brandenburg Frost. A gathering for family and friends celebrating Ann's life will be held on Wed., August 1 from 11 - 3 at the Calhoun Beach Club in Mpls. Memorials will be directed to the Humphrey Cancer Center Melanoma Research Fund and the North Memorial Hospice Foundation.
