Blix, Robert Earl "Bob" (81) Born May 5, 1941, in Minneapolis, MN went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2023, in AZ. Graduating in 1959 from Roosevelt High, Bob was a star athlete for the Roosevelt Teddies, lettering in baseball, football, hockey, and ski jumping, and will be remembered as an outdoor enthusiast. He was instrumental in creating the Blizzard Ski Club to teach his passion for skiing and was proud to work with the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002. Golf became his next greatest passion in life, shooting his age at 79, and running golf leagues in AZ and WI. Bob was a member of the IBEW, succeeded in becoming estimator and part owner of Collins Electric after a 2-year stint working on the Alaskan pipeline. He retired at age 55, worked part-time, did electrical jobs for friends, and sold refurbished golf equipment. He lived his life to the fullest to the end, taught what he knew and was a continuous learner of every aspect of life. We will cherish all the memories he created and his loud laughter. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Earl Blix, followed by his brother-in-law, Norm Swenson, and his life partner, Zaila Michelson. He is survived by his sister Jane Swenson, children Gary, Mike, (Lori), Sandy Boe (Scott), Brett, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and two nieces Carrie (Chris) Montgomery and Amy (Kris) Magnusson. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at the Mound American Legion, 2333 Wilshire Blvd, Mound MN 55364 on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Please bring memories to share!
