Sara (Hammond) Carvis, of Aurora, CO passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on June 2, 2023 at age 53, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sara's wish was to have a Celebration of her Life while she was still living. Two weeks before she left us, we were fortunate to gather to celebrate Sara. It was an incredible opportunity for all to share their love and memories and for that experience she was deeply grateful. Sara was born on Oct 1, 1969 in St. Paul, MN to Richard and Carol (Meese) Hammond. Graduated from Burnsville High School in 1988 and earned her Bachelors in Business at the University of Minnesota in 1992. In 2005, Sara married Thaddius Carvis and they had two children. She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Eleanor (Meese) Lyons and Marie Hammond. Her friends have have been inspired by her kindness, positive energy and generosity. Sara's laughter was contagious and her glorious smile lit up a room. She was a risk taker with a life long passion for the outdoors and athletics. She was an extreme skier and competed in soccer, marathons, triathlons, Ironmans, and mountain biking, to name a few. She lived life to the fullest and had goals both personally and professionally that she strove to accomplish every day, week, month or year. When Sara set her sights on a goal we trusted that she would achieve it. Her family and friends will continue to live life to the fullest in honor of her legacy.
