Johnson (Aasen), Thelma Louise Age 91, of Edina, passed away on Mother's Day, May 14, 2023. Born on 11/8/31 near Sunburg, MN, and baptized at East Norway Lake Lutheran Church. After graduating from high school in 1949 in Kerkhoven, MN, she attended Minneapolis Business College and worked as a secretary in the Missouri Synod District Office and later the Dayton Hudson Corporation. Thelma and Mark met at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and were married there on May 24, 1958. Besides family, Thelma's interests included genealogy, all things Norwegian, and altar paintings. She loved her five trips to Norway, hundreds of visits to Norway Lake and the many programs at Mindekirken (Norwegian Lutheran American Church). Survived by loving husband of 65 years, Mark (Marcellus); daughters Mary (Curtis) Oswskey, Kay Johnson (Joseph Zunt) and Ann (Bill) Hamann; grandchildren James (Renee), Peter, Anora, Andrew, Sam, Ian, Jeremiah and Kris; brother John Aasen and sister-in-law Gloria Johnson. Preceded in death by parents, Axel and Ida Louise (Amb) Aasen; and siblings, Conrad and Wendell Aasen and Myrtella Christenson. Thanks to Aurora on France Memory Care and St. Croix Hospice. Memorial Service on Wednesday, June 14th at 11:00am with visitation one hour before the service and luncheon following, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4100 Lyndale Ave So. Minneapolis.
