Rumppe, Janice Marie of Bloomington, MN, age 84, passed away at home peacefully with family on January 20, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father Joseph George, her mother Dorothy (Roster) George, brother Joseph George, brother-in-law Gregg Helgesen and sister-in-law JoEllen Batty George. Janice is survived by her husband Richard Rumppe, sons Michael (Teresa) Rumppe, Robert (Kathy) Rumppe, daughters Mary (Steve) Young, Marni (Tim) Heck and Stacy (Chad) Freyer, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sister Marlene Helgesen and brothers William, Richard, and James George. Jan graduated from West High School in Minneapolis and attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota, while raising a family at the same time. She worked as an elementary school teacher for 30 years in the Richfield, Bloomington and Blake school systems. Janice was a loving wife, mother, teacher, mentor, cook, gardener, and friend to those that had the opportunity to share in her life. A memorial mass celebrating Jan's life will be held at Mary, Mother of the Church Catholic Church, 3333 Cliff Road E, Burnsville MN on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 11:00am. Visitation starts at 10:00am. Lunch will be provided at the church immediately following the service.
