Ekeren, Lloyd 83, of Roseville, MN, passed away on January 21, 2023, as a result of ALS and heart failure. He was born in Lisbon, ND to Bessie and Anton Ekeren as the youngest of 13 children and grew up in a small farmhouse bursting with activity. He met his wife Ellie, of 57 years, while living in Minneapolis. Their 2 daughters, Jenny (spouse Jeff) and Deb (partner Jason) and 2 grandchildren, Amber and Connor, were a constant source of pride and joy. Lloyd was quick with a smile, and he delighted in raucous card games and whimsical pranks. When home disasters struck, he was fast to arrive with a bucket full of tools and the know-how to fix almost anything. He had a 40-year career as an electrician, where he distinguished himself through his hard work and dedication. In retirement, he spent summers busy with his bike repair hobby and winters in Green Valley, AZ. He also relished time at their cabin in Webb Lake, WI where he puttered with tools and woodworking projects. He treasured experiences traveling with his wife around the world, feeding his curiosity and appetite. A burial will take place in Lisbon, ND later this year. Honoring Lloyd's love of bikes, we request donations to Free Bikes 4 Kidz Minnesota, fb4kmn.org.
