Blanche Arlene Wolfe

Wolfe, Blanche Arlene (Granheim) Age 89, of Edina, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2022. Preceded in death by beloved husband of 61 years, Tom Wolfe, parents Oscar and Ragna Granheim, and brother, Arthur Granheim. Survived by sister June Morton, children, Dan (Carol) Wolfe, Monica (Dave) Kilber, Sara (Brad) Kay, and Teresa (Ed) Luterbach, 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends. Blanche was born in Long Lake Township, Watonwan County, MN on May 31, 1933. She spent her childhood in Odin and St. James, MN, and graduated from St. James High School. Blanche met Tom at Scherr-Tumico in St. James, where they were both employed; they were married in 1953. They moved to Minneapolis and eventually settled in Minnetonka. In addition to raising her 4 children, Blanche was a lifelong volunteer for a variety of organizations serving the elderly and those in need, and she worked part-time as a teller at Marquette Bank. In retirement, she and Tom traveled the world together, researching family genealogy along the way. Blanche was proud of her Norwegian heritage and was also an avid walker, logging several miles a day into her mid-80s. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and in the past few years, shared a love of dancing and ice cream with her special friend, Jerry Thompson. A celebration of Blanche's life will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church, 4537 - 3rd Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55419, on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Visitation begins at 9:30 am, the service at 11:00, with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to: Long Lake Cemetery Association, Kim Olson, 66925 - 390th Street, Butterfield, MN 56120.
