Bowers, James K. age 81, of Excelsior, MN, passed away November 21, 2022 after a long illness of Alzheimer's Disease. Preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Esther (Bemis) Bowers and a sister Jacqueline (Jerry) Clausing. Survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Jordan, son Perry (Carllie), daughter Diane Mathisen, and three stepchildren; Laura (Kip) Holliday, Jason (Karla) Jordan, and Scott Young, six grandchildren; Sarah, Benno, Talia, Lucia, Giada, Angelo, four step-grandchildren; Isabella, Seth, Liam, Logan, and 1 great-grandchild Jack. Jim was born in Milwaukee, WI, attended the University of Wisconsin (BS - Psychology) and later University of Minnesota (MA Journalism). Jim was founder of Intex Crushers Company in 1975 and was an innovator of recycling concrete and asphalt in Minnesota and surrounding states. Jim was a world-traveler who loved sailing on Lake Minnetonka and later power boating on Lake Superior. He and Kathleen were members of Madeline Island Yacht Club. He loved being with the animals on his hobby farm and restoring numerous antique wagons. Jim had an outsized personality and lived life to the fullest! He devoted many hours to volunteerism and supported Language in the Parks. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Concordia Languages Villages, Habitat for Humanity, and Second Harvest Heartland.
