Predeceased by siblings Morris Newman, Sam Newman, Sylvia Newman, Marjorie Weinstein, Leonard Newman. Irene attended UCLA, majoring in art education. She began her career in retail as a young saleswoman in Dayton's upscale Oval Room. She would later open a women's retail store with three partners that would become Epitome in the Galleria Edina, eventually becoming sole owner. Her career as a business owner spanned over 50 years. She found her passion and joy and was forever grateful to her employees, customers, and friends. Her easy laugh, style and taste, love of work and life, generosity and encouragement to others, as well as her dislike of wobbly restaurant tables, will be forever fondly remembered by her family and friends. Special thanks to her kind caregivers at Methodist Hospital and NC Little Hospice. Per her request, there will be no service. A small, private remembrance will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation or donor's favorite charity.
