Michael Peter Dempski

Dempski, Michael Peter age 68 of Minneapolis. Born July 24, 1954 in Irvington, NJ; died of natural causes on September 24, 2022. Preceded in death by parents, Louis Dempski of Port Reading, NJ and Josephine Karwowski Dempski of Kulpmont, PA. Survived by sister, Stella (Michael) Dempski Causey of Columbia, S.C.; good friends, Paul and Julie Peña; cousins and many good friends. Michael received his undergraduate degree from Penn State and his Master's in Chinese History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne where he received his LPN and guarded Rudolph Hess in Germany. He also served as a public health volunteer in the U.S. Peace Corp for two tours in the Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire). Michael retired as a special education assistant from Minneapolis Public Schools. His hobbies include: fishing, storytelling, books, volunteering at the library, food, global travel, friends and his cats. A gathering of friends and family will take place at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 1st at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 5801 Lyndale Ave. S., Mpls., with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
