Schrankler, Mary age 90, of Woodbury, MN passed away with family at her side on Monday, September 19, 2022. Mary had a love of gardening, travel, reading books and spending precious time creating lasting memories doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren. She earned a Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of MN and obtained her Masters Degree in Education Administration at the University of St. Thomas. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Evelyn Lucia; brothers, James and Joseph Lucia and granddaughter, Laura Ann Schrankler. Mary is survived by and will be dearly missed by her husband of 67 years, Bill; children, Jay Schrankler (Pam York), Jill Johnson, James (Pam) Schrankler; grandchildren, Amanda (Andy) Kurkowski, Jennifer (Blaine) Nelson, Tom (Noelle) Schrankler, Peter (Emily) Schrankler, Adam Schrankler, Sam Johnson, Bennett Johnson; great-grandchildren, Ava and Wes Kurkowski, Theo Nelson and sister-in-law, Barb Lucia. Mary had many hobbies including gardening, travelling, cooking, golf, pontoon rides, downhill skiing, arts and crafts with her grandchildren, being an integral part of the American Association of University Women, and many other pursuits. Among her superior cooking skills was making her famous spaghetti sauce. She gave containers of this to all her family to enjoy. This is a fond, and delicious, memory among her entire family and will be sorely missed. Family was the most important thing in Mary's life. She and Bill made a point of gathering the family each summer at Cragun's, and later Kavanaugh's, resorts in norther Minnesota. There she spent many hours with grandchildren doing fun activities she had planned. She always said she wanted the cousins to really know each other. She accomplished this and more. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Visitation one hour prior to service from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 8260 4th St. N., Oakdale, MN 55128. Lunch will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Association of University Women St. Paul Scholarship Fund, payable to the St. Paul College Club Inc.
