Stone, Michael Edward "Mike" of New Brighton, passed away on July 28, 2022. Mike was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 19, 1939. He graduated from Washburn High School in 1957. He was a computer programmer by trade in the power and transmission industry, working at one point for Minnesota's pioneering computer manufacturer, Control Data Corp. and ending his career at Siemens before retiring. Mike was known for his love of music, gardening, books and travel. He was a constant source of technical support to his wife, Merrily, over her five decades of teaching piano and volunteering with arts organizations. He is survived by Merrily Stone, his wife of 55 years, siblings Kathleen Stone and Elizabeth Both, 11 nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews and step-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Mike is preceded in death by his parents Al & Dorothy Stone, a niece and two great nieces. A funeral service for Mike will be held on Wednesday, August 10 at 11 AM at Washburn- McReavy Hillside Chapel, 2600 19th Ave. NE, Minneapolis, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
