Jacobsen, Marjorie Anne Rogness age 86, died June 6, 2022, of complications associated with dementia. Marjorie grew up in Minneapolis and was member of a friendship filled class of 1959 graduates of the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. In 2009, a significant number of that group celebrated their fiftieth year reunion along with the one hundredth year of the School of Nursing. Later additional training led to Marjorie serving as a coronary/critical care nurse at the former St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis. Also in 1959, Marjorie married James Jacobsen. Together they maintained their careers and raised a family of three children. Throughout her abundant life she enjoyed travel, theater, music, gardens and time with family and friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Ellery and Margaret Rogness and brother Donald Rogness. She is survived by husband James, son Stephen, daughter Laura Carpenter (Todd), daughter Susan Jacobsen (David) and grandchildren Elliot Carpenter, Allison Carpenter, Caroline Jacobsen and Alexander Jacobsen; and by sister Elizabeth Hitchcock and brother John Rogness (Janice). We feel we have been blessed by and are profoundly thankful for the loving care given to Marjorie by the staff of Emerald Crest Burnsville and Brighton Hospice. A Memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, 519 Oak Grove Street, Minneapolis, at 10:30 AM on July 22, 2022.
