Ron Yates of Minneapolis, MN  passed away on Monday, April 11th at the age of 76. He was born on December 12th 1945  in Minneapolis, MN.  Ron graduated from Mounds View High School in 1963. After High School Ron joined the Navy and was stationed on the USS Bushnell in Key West, FL. After 4 years in the Navy Ron attended the University of Minnesota graduating in 1972 with a degree in History.  After graduation Ron went on to work his entire professional career at 3M in the Dental Division, which spanned over 30 years in a number of Sales and Marketing roles.  His career at 3M would take him all over the world. Besides Minneapolis, Ron lived in Cleveland, Northern California and Paris.  Ron will always be remembered for his quick witted jokes, uncanny ability to give someone a nickname and his complicated love affair with Minnesota sports. Ron was an avid reader, who loved nothing more than starting his weekend morning with a Star Tribune and glass of Orange Juice.  Ron was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Shirley (Andreen) and brother Steven. He is survived by his children Jared, Amanda, Thomas and Juliette, grandsons Jaxson and Bryce, Daughter in-law Crystal, brother Greg and sisters Najia and Sue. Family and friends are invited to attend a Service at Fort Snelling cemetery on Tuesday, June 14th.  Meet at Assembly Area #3 at 8:45 AM. There will be a Celebration of Life after the service at Elsie’s in NE Minneapolis from 10 am to Noon.
