Sullivan, Philip age 89, passed away peacefully in Bloomington, MN on January 4th. Phil was born (12/20/32) in Superior, WI the 4th of 8 children of Michael and Helen (Heineman) Sullivan. Phil gained high school fame as a musician and thespian only to leave at 16 to sneak into the MN National Guard. After a few months he was sent home, only to join the guard again at 17 (with the help of his father). Phil loved the military and the discipline and structure it gave him. Doing communications work for the Army and Air Force, Phil achieved the rank of Captain and did his duty participating in the rebuilding of West Germany after World War II. He was fluent in German. In 1957 Phil married his German sweetheart (Eva Marie Gisela) and returned home. He graduated from the U of M and earned a Master's in Economics from St. Louis University. Phil worked for the Social Security and Food and Drug Administrations, banks and other businesses. He lived all over the country and eventually settled in Alabama before coming home to MN in 2017. Phil and Eva Marie (passed in 2011) had one child, Robert, who passed in 2004. Phil leaves behind two Sullivan siblings, Denny and Michael, two Sullivan grandchildren, Kyle (Megan) and Haley, one great- grandson (Trae) and many nieces and nephews. A St. Patrick's Day celebration of Phil's life will take place on March 17th, 2022  A 2pm Interment in Minneapolis at Ft. Snelling with Phil friends and family and a gathering afterwards (4pm - 7pm) at the party room of Susan Feehan's appartment at Lochmoor Condominiums 5140 W. 102nd St Bloomington.  For more info contact Tom Feehan at 651-983-1192.
