Kolkind, Janice "Jan" Eleanor of Clear Lake, MN and Mission, TX, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 to the arms of the Lord and His waiting Angels on October 12, 2021 in St Cloud, MN as a result of Covid-19. Jan was born on March 16, 1937 in Duluth, MN to Earl and Edie Paulsen which fit her passion for rocks any type rocks especially Lake Superior Agates Jan would often be found scouring the shores of Lake Superior and gravel back roads collecting buckets of rocks that attracted her attention. Jan married Richard (Dick Kolkind) on April 24, 1953 and Jan and Dick were married for 68 wonderful years. Jan (Grandma Jan, Great Grandma Jan, CB handle "Crafty Lady") worked for Medtronics, Honeywell, JC Pennys and other companies along with being the best Mom ever and raising four kids. Jan's lifetime passions were family, crafting, quilting, sewing, cooking, baking, teaching, learning, adventures, exploring, helping others, always being there for everyone, traveling, Wagon City in Mission TX, Travelers Country Club in Clear Lake MN, volunteering, taking photos especially of family members, scrapbooking, playing cards, plants, gardening, washing her rocks - truly!, square dancing, smiling, laughing, and always being the wonderful lady that she has always been. Jan was proceeded in death by her parents Earl and Edie Paulsen, brother Jim, daughter Linda, grandson Ricky and son in law Jim. Jan is survived by her husband Dick, daughter Wanda, sons Steve and Russ (Stacy), grandchildren Mike, Callie, Eric, Josh, Kevin and Louie, and 12 great grandchildren. Private interment. Service Saturday October 16, 2021 at 2:30pm with visitation 1 hour prior at Glen Haven Chapel in Crystal. Family requests that masks are worn for all those attending. Memorials are preferred to your favorite charitable organizations.
