Jenks, Joan Mary age 80, of Mound, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Joan was born on May 30, 1941 in West Hollywood, CA to John and Ann Cooney. The family moved back to Minnesota where she grew up on their family farm in LeCenter. She graduated from Mankato State University in 1963 with a Degree in Physical Education/Health and a minor in Business. It was there, in her dance class, that she met her husband, Guy Oliver Jenks and the two would marry on August 1, 1964. She taught for 6 years before stepping away to begin her true calling and passion as a mother to her four children. She also enjoyed good food and conversation, gardening, flowers, and music. Joan will be remembered for her kindness to others, her unconditional love and her chocolate chip cookies. Joan was survived by her husband of 57 years, Guy; their children, Deborah Jenks (Kevin Hinker), Daniel (Sarah) Jenks, David (Kate) Jenks, Robert Jenks (Penelope Wong); ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and brother John Jr. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Huber Funeral Home, 1801 Commerce Blvd, Mound. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 2385 Commerce Blvd, Mound.
