Gish, Marvin 86, passed away in Bloomington, MN, on June 9th, 2021. He was born on April 3, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, to Rose and Irving Gish and married Roberta (Bobbie) Kailin in 1956.

Marv left New York at the age of 16 to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. He served in the Signal Corps in the US Army at Fort Monmouth, NJ, in 1959.

He was a resident of Davenport, IA, from 1961 to 1987 then moved to the Twin Cities (Eden Prairie and Bloomington). After working for Honeywell for more than thirty years, he became a certified financial advisor and started his own business.

A longtime member of the Minnesota Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Marv sang and played guitar for Zenith Avenue, one of the Fellowship's popular musical groups.

Besides playing guitar, Marv enjoyed tennis, fishing, computers, and watching his grandson Kyle play baseball.

Special memories of Marv include the many times he took his family and friends fishing on his boat on Lake Minnetonka; the cross-country drives to visit family in New York and San Diego; and his love of yodeling and the country music of Jimmie Rodgers.

Most of all, his family and friends will remember his kindness, sense of humor, easy-going personality, and generosity of spirit.

Survivors include his wife Bobbie, sons Jeff (Jana) & Steve, daughter Cathy Quillin (Dan), grandson Kyle Quillin, sister Barbara, and brother Herbert. Also his step-granddaughter Angelica and her daughters Alexis and Cassandra.
