Girard, Barb, age 71 of Buffalo, MN passed away Sunday May 9, 2021 at home with her family all nearby. She fought a courageous 16 month battle against peritoneal cancer. Barb lived a beautiful life full of kindness, love, friendship, and a generous spirit. Her smile lit up a room. Barb was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved scrapbooking, making detailed cards for friends, trying new recipes, golfing, hiking, playing cards, finding a good shopping deal and living life. Barb was born and raised in Minneapolis, she graduated from Vocational High School. She met and married her loving husband Russ in 1971, just celebrating 50 years of marriage this winter. Barb began her career at Control Data and Honeywell and she stills spends time with friends she met 50+ years ago. She then had a successful career working 35 years for Bell Mortgage, where again she made many lifelong friendships. Barb and her family lived in Fridley until 1995 and then moved to a beautiful home in St. Michael, MN. Three years ago, Barb & Russ downsized and moved to Buffalo, MN. Life was full of joy with grandchildren and travels. Barb was very proud of her 2 children and 3 grandchildren. She enjoyed being an active fan of everything they did. For 20 years she and Russ spent winters in Lake Havasu City, AZ and enjoyed a large group of friendships and activities there. Barb is survived by her husband Russ, daughter Michelle (Rob) Riedel, son Kevin Girard, her sister Mary (Craig) Barlow, brother Larry (Jan) Sieloff, her 3 grandchildren: Gracelyn, Grant, and Andrew, many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother John and Irene Sieloff, her older brothers Jim and Rick Sieloff. A Celebration of Life will be held June 3, 2021 at St. Michael City Center Chamber Room. A visitation at 5:00, a celebration service at 6:00 and a dinner to follow.
