Ravits, Lenore "Cissy" Cissy Ravits, age 95, passed away on January 31, after a long, happy life filled with family and friends attracted to her outgoing nature and sense of humor. Cissy Strouse was born and raised in St. Paul, attended University High School, and graduated from the University of Minnesota, Phi Beta Kappa. Cissy earned a masters degree in psychology at the University and began a career there as an academic advisor. She married Dr. Harold Ravits in 1949. They raised three children while Harold built his medical practice in dermatology and were married for 68 years until his death in 2017. Cissy volunteered with the Girl Scouts and headed up campaigns for the United Jewish Appeal. After her children were grown, Cissy returned to work at the University and in later years became a real estate agent in St Paul. Harold and Cissy traveled internationally. They were strong supporters of the St Paul Chamber Orchestra, loved golf, and spent winters in Scottsdale, AZ. Cissy was a diligent caregiver for Harold in the last several years of his life. Cissy spent her last two years at Sholom Residence where she flourished. Her children and grandchildren brought her joy. She encouraged them to do their best. She is survived by her children: Martha, Eugene, OR; Emily, "Mimi" (Clarence Chaplin), St Paul; John (Trish), San Diego; her nine grandchildren and four great granddaughters.
