Eisenstadt, Betty On Saturday, November 21, 2020, Betty Silver Eisenstadt, age 97, passed away in her in her home after a long illness. She was born in Beulah, ND on March 11, 1923. She later moved with her family to Bismark where she went to high school and honed her secretarial skills, winning the title of fastest typist and shorthand taker in North Dakota. She soon moved to Minneapolis, where she worked as a legal secretary. This is where she met her future husband of almost fifty years, William Sawyer Eisenstadt. He knew he would marry her as soon as he saw her but it took the war, and realizing he was the only one of her beaus she missed, to know he was the one for her. She lived in Minneapolis the rest of her life, raising her children, working in her husband's medical practice, and was active in the women's division of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation where she served as president. Later, she took up golf, a passion she shared with her husband. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Sawyer, brothers Jack, Abe and Sam, and son Paul. She is survived by her children Deborah, Ira, Tom and Amy and granddaughters Isabel Eisenstadt and Dessi Menendez. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Susan Herrera, Home Health Care LLC, for the special loving care she provided to Betty for many years.
