Hoff, Thomas Romaine was born September 30, 1944 in northeast Minneapolis, MN, and passed away on October 11, 2020 in Cortez, CO at the age of 76 while recovering from a heart attack in June. Tom is survived by wife Therese Ann Hoff; daughter Aubrey Hoff Martinez and husband Pedro Martinez; step-sons Benjamin Dykes and Adam Dykes; grandson's Dylan, Merick, and Logan Martinez. He was preceded in death by parents Marian (Thompson) and Romaine Hoff and son Thomas R. Hoff II. Tom loved sports, becoming a hockey goalie star at Edison High School and the University of Minnesota. He continued playing in leagues into his 40's. He accomplished his third-degree black belt in Judo, competing into his mid-30s. Tom's diverse interests led to varied careers in population genetics research at the Memorial Blood Center, as a commodities broker with John G. Kinnard, and mortgage loan officer in Minneapolis and Denver, CO. He retired in 2006. After moving to Denver in 1991, he became an active member of the Colorado Archaeological Society, Denver Chapter, and held various state board positions over the years. After retiring to SW Colorado, he loved digging active excavation sites and exploring rock art and ruin sites. Tom continued to love outdoor sports until his heart attack (skiing, fishing, hunting, camping,4-wheeling). He willingly shared his extraordinary handyman skills, was fun-loving and wielded a funny, dry wit. He will be greatly missed by all.
