Paul Andrew Schultz was born March 11, 1965 in Ortonville, MN. His father, Richard, was co-owner of KDIO radio station in town; his mother, Joyce (Dahlgren) Schultz, owned The Yardstick fabric shop. He was the youngest of five children.

Paul grew up understanding the technical knowledge of radio and had many memories of flying radio-controlled airplanes with his dad.

He attended Anoka Ramsey Community College and obtained an AAS degree in Air Traffic Control and Business in 1985. He then completed two years training at the Federal Aviation Administration Academy in Oklahoma City, OK to become an Air Traffic Controller.

He spent his career as an Air Traffic Controller at the Minneapolis ARTC Center in Farmington, MN. After several letters of commendations and working many significant air traffic events, including 9/11, Paul retired after 25+ years of service.

Paul had a great love for family and friends. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. He spent many years participating in fishing and hunting tournaments with his close friends and his Weimaraners. He passed his love and appreciation of the outdoors on to his children. Most family vacations and memories included a lake, woods, or National Park, even a trip to London in 2017 to see the Vikings play was at an outdoor stadium. He will be remembered for his humor, his laugh, and his insistence that he could easily be a meteorologist with his love of radar and weather.

Paul passed away September 20 at 55 years of age. In addition to his wife, Shannon Klocke, he is survived by his children Shelby and Josh; his parents, his brother, John and sisters, Valerie and Nancy. His brother Mark passed away in 1991.

Paul will be deeply missed by those that loved him. He has a legacy for supporting our Veterans, homage to his brother Mark, and that will be continued in his honor.

He will be buried at the Yellowbank Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Lac qui Parle, MN next to the family land where many memories were made.

A outdoor celebration of his life is planned for October 25, 1-4PM at the Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club in Prior Lake.

Memorials preferred to Fisher House Foundation or Pets for Vets.
