Allen, Roger Gene died peacefully in his sleep, watching TV, in the wee hours of the morning of September 19. It was the soft landing he'd hoped for, though it came 15 years too early. He was 67. Roger was pre-deceased by his parents Fred Allen and Betty Carlson and two infant brothers. He is survived by his brother Jim and his co-workers at Delta Airlines with whom he'd worked since 1997. Upon retiring, a couple months ago, Roger told me that despite oversized bags, Minnesota winters and his advancing age, the last 23 years had been the best years of his life, and he owed it all to his ground-crew band of brothers that had been his amazingly good fortune to work with during that time. He appreciated every day he got to work with them. Stay safe and remember to have fun.
