Bond (nee Frost), Joan With profound sadness we announce the passing of Joan Bond (nee Frost), our loving and devoted mother, on June 6, 2020. Complications of dementia finally overcame her at her residence at Yorkshire of Edina. She was in her 83rd year. Born in Jackson, MN to James and Agatha Frost (nee Clausen), Joan was very active in school and the community, being voted Future Farmers of America Sweetheart in 1955 and playing the lead in many class plays. She began dating her beloved David at prom in 1955, and they were married in 1959. They had many adventures, but particularly enjoyed their time camping with David's family and visiting Joan's family both in Minnesota and in Corpus Christi, TX where they loved fishing with her brother Richard. She was a loving mother to Stephanie of Surprise, AZ and Kristine Marshall (Mark) of Edina, proud grandmother of Emily Frost, Scott David, and Daniel Jon Marshall. Predeceased by David, her devoted husband of 42 years; sisters-in-law Lois Bond, Rosemary Bond, and Kim Bond; and brothers-in-law Calvin Fett and Peter Garber, and niece Rebecca Garber. Joan lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and volunteer. She loved to cook, kept an immaculate house, and was highly skilled with her sewing machine. She enjoyed her weekly outings to Bible study and was a long-time member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Bloomington. She volunteered at Hubert Olson Elementary in Bloomington for over 30 years, serving lunch every Wednesday and working in the classroom. A farm girl at heart, gardening was also a lifelong passion. Most of all, she loved her family and instilled in her daughters strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. A celebration of Joan's life will be held at Dawn Valley Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, Bloomington, MN. We sincerely thank the staff at Yorkshire and St. Croix Hospice who lovingly cared for Mother when we were unable to. You were a gift to both her and to us. Thank you. Flowers or donations to St. Croix Hospice are welcome. Private Funeral Service Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Dawn Valley Chapel. Interment Dawn Valley Memorial Park.
