Maxine (Dorn) Chapman

Chapman, Maxine (Dorn) 92, passed away from natural causes on 5/18/2020. "Maxie" was a lifelong resident of Osseo. She fell in love with her husband, Gar, when she was just four years old (or so the story goes!). They were married for 54 years before his passing in 2001. They frequently enjoyed their cabin on Mille Lacs Lake with many friends. Maxie was a long term employee of Honeywell. She was also a lifetime member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church where she was involved in many aspects of service, both through the church and also the community. Although Maxie never had a biological child, she was an aunt/mother to her 17 nieces and nephews (Jopps/Dorns), and their children/grandchildren that followed. For years, she hosted a Christmas party at her house for the clan involving gifting all the children. She was always at the ready to care for all. She will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor, never saying a negative word about anyone, never complaining, and always being there for others! Her generous spirit will never be forgotten. "Well done, good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:21). As she said just prior to her passing, "I am ready to go home. I am not afraid." Homeward bound she is! Thanks to the staff at Benedictine Senior Living at Steeple Pointe for their care and compassion. Private family interment at Mound Cemetery was held this past week. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
