Pollnow, Patricia Ann (née Kollias) December 14, 1941-April 26, 2020 Patricia Ann Pollnow was born in Belvidere, Illinois to Gust and Ann Kollias. Patricia was baptized Anastasia at St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Rockford, Illinois. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1960 and followed her heart to work as a caregiver and receptionist in small medical practices. While working for Dr. Steinkamp in Belvidere, she met George Wesley Pollnow of Poplar Grove. The two were married on October 24, 1965 and lived in Platteville, WI where Wes attended the University. As a civil engineer, Wes's work took the couple to Moline, Illinois, where they welcomed three daughters. They enjoyed snowmobile trips with friends and Pat served on the church board and as an officer of the Moline Junior Woman's Club. The family ventured to Richland, Washington, where camping, skiing, and softball were the family fun and Pat aided in the growth of the Greek Orthodox mission church. Following Wes's work, Pat, Alexa, and Emily moved to Minnetonka, Minnesota, where Pat continued to work at private practice and raising her girls. Preceded in death by her parents and brother, George Kollias. Survived by her loving husband of 55 years, sister Olympia (Bea) Kollias, daughters Anne Pollnow, Alexa Musto (Erik), and Emily Pollnow (Martin O'Toole), beloved grandchildren Oliver, Elise, Phoebe and Georgia, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Patty had a dream of becoming a nurse since her youth. While she had no formal training, she combined this passion with her sharp clerical skills to work in several small medical practices throughout her life. Her work was praised by doctors she worked for, and her ability to provide ease and comfort to patients was always greatly appreciated. We honor all the nurses that cared for Patty through her elder years and have developed a tremendous appreciation for this work, especially during these challenging times of health and wellness in our world. God bless healthcare worker and keep them safe.
