Griffiths III, George Age 79, of Edina, passed away peacefully with his children by his side on October 18, 2019. Preceded in death by parents George and "Missy," wife Bonnie, and daughter Shannon. George was born in Chariton, IA, earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State Univ, spent 2 years in the Army, then worked for General Mills for 36+ years. George was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and loyal friend. He is survived by his son George Byron ("Geordie") Griffiths, daughter Amy Kathleen Griffiths Tori and husband Jose, son-in-law Jeffrey Bogan, grandson Seamus Patrick Bogan, sister Karen Tolbert and her husband Brooks, brother Gary Griffiths and his wife Peggy, sister-in-law Peg Haggerty, several nieces and nephews, and his friend Barbara Kistle. George was a history buff, and was especially proud of his family's coal mining history. He enjoyed socializ-ing with his fraternity brothers, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and playing cribbage. George loved to fish, play golf, and spend time outside at the cabin, either tinkering on projects or taking long boat rides on the lake. Visitation Wednesday 5-8pm at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel. Funeral Thursday 12noon at Basilica of St. Mary, Minneapolis (with visitation one hour prior to service). Private interment at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, George's children ask for donations in his memory to The Basilica Landmark or NC Little Memorial Hospice.
