Jackson, James P. 12/01/1932-10/14/2019 Survived by wife of 61 years "Chrissie". Children: James (Lynne) Jackson, Daniel (Rebekah), Bethany and Noah (Ali): Jeanne (Dario) Anselmo, Andrew, Aidan & Ali: Jana (Todd) Nelson, Samuel, Isaiah & Joshua. Brother: Thomas Jackson. Jim was a man of great intensity. In his vocation (top Cadillac salesman in upper midwest for 22 years) or avocation: Big Ten champion horizontal bar and third place at NCAA finals; ran 5 marathons and many ten K's from age 47 through 50; long distance bike rides in his 70's (up to 60 miles); medal winner in ski jumping in high school. One of only a handful of men to qualify for national athletic fraternity Sigma Delta Psi (to earn the reward 12 events with time and distance qualifications could be performed during college career-he did his all in one afternoon!) In the past few years he resumed his hobby of hand loading ammunition for his very special rifle and became an expert marksman which gave him great satisfaction. Whatever he attempted was "over the top" and life was spent in the fast lane. But his greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. He expressively shared his love and pride of family. None of us ever doubted how much he loved us! The sadness over the last 5 years has been the loss of ability to play golf, tennis, run or any other activity. As the prostate cancer and neuropathy took its toll he developed severe balance, dizziness and innumerable health issues. Never did he complain...just an occasional lament, "I wish I could" Our most heartfelt thanks to Park Nicollet Hospice and their caring and guidance for family to help Jim walk his final journey. It was truly amazing! He was larger than life and the celebration of that life will be October 25th at Westwood Community Church 3121 Westwood Drive, Excelsior, MN 55331. Visitation will be at 10AM followed by Celebration of Life and lunch. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Connected Families or Westwood Community Church.
