Thielen, Dorothy Ann (Meyer) Wife of the late Lerald "Jr." Thielen, 92 year old resident of Pierz, MN passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Meadow Ponds Assisted Living Facility in Pierz, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN with Father David Maciej officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Pierz, MN. A visitation will be held from 12-4 P.M. on Sunday and 9:30-10:30 on Monday, both at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Dorothy Ann (Meyer) Thielen was born on July 6, 1926 in Pierz, Minnesota to the late Nicholas B. and Anna (Bares) Meyer. Dorothy and Lerald, were owners of Thielen Meats in Pierz for many years. Work was her life, life was her work. Dorothy is survived by her children, Keith (Renee) Thielen; John (Linda) Thielen; and Ann Herold; special friend, Otto Pelikan; and 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lerald "Jr." Thielen; son, Paul Thielen; brothers, Harold, Richard, and Frederick Meyer; sisters, Geraldine Braun and Jeanette Schaefer. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Meadow Ponds Assisted Living or Horizon Health Hospice.
