Michael Edward Norris

Norris, Michael Edward born October 25, 1968 passed away peacefully November 14, 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. Michael graduated from Edina High School, class of 1987, National Merit Scholar. He went on to get his degree in political science at University of Colorado Boulder. Post college, he set out to explore the world, first living in Costa Rica completing a Spanish program and then settling in Barcelona, Spain. Michael immersed himself in the Catalan culture and received a teaching degree from the International School of Languages. He parlayed this into becoming an English Teacher, as well as translating in the medical and legal field. Michael loved music, seeing live shows, skiing, traveling and returning home to see family and friends, both in Minneapolis and Naples, Florida. Michael was an avid reader with a vast knowledge of world politics, international monetary policy, and an opinion on just about everything. Conversations with Michael were never dull. In 2011, he was blessed with the birth of his beautiful little girl, Sienna. There was nothing he loved more than being a father to her. Michael is preceded in death by loving step father, John Robert Stielow. He is survived by daughter, Sienna; mother, Susan; brothers, Jonathan (Cally), Michael (Amy), Justin, Jordan and Ryan; sister, Ali; and nieces, Gabby, Helena; nephews, Ben and Jack. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 29th, 12:00 p.m. at Wayzata Community Church with gathering for all hosted by the family at Wayzata Country Club immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please consider a random act of kindness in Michael's memory to brighten somebody's day. Memorials preferred to The Michael Norris Garden, at the Naples Botanical Garden. Laugh a little louder, and smile a little bigger, Michael had that effect on people and there is nothing that would bring him more joy then your passing that on.
