Harper, Richard M. Age 88, retired United Methodist minister, died on October 10 in Brookings, SD. He was born in St. Paul and graduated from Harding High School, Macalester College, and Evangelical Theological Seminary. Richard married Shirley Spencer in 1950, and they served churches in Le Sueur, Rochester, Plymouth, and Moundsview. Richard is survived by his three children: Ruth (Larry Rogers) of Brookings, SD, Emily (Robert Levine) of Milwaukee, WI, and Paul (Teresa Welborn) of Austin, TX, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley, and four brothers. A celebration of his life will be held at Messiah Church in Plymouth, November 3, at 11:00 a.m.
