Abrahamsen, Buel (Bud) of Burnsville passed away in his sleep on April 2, 2018 at age 97. He was a man of great faith, kindness & integrity who was loved by all. Bud was born October 3, 1920 in Plainview and grew up in Winona. He was a CPHM in the Navy during World War II. He married his high school sweetheart Elizabeth Erwin in 1945. After graduation from the U of MN, he began a life-long and varied career with Cargill. Bud's retirement was filled with travel, golf, woodwork, cards, baking, volunteer work, and get-togethers with his many friends and family. Mark, his son-in-law, accompanied him on the Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2011. Bud was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty; parents Eva and Phil Abrahamsen; and sisters Phoebe Bambenek and Dorothy Swanson. Bud will be deeply missed by his daughters Cathy (Paul) Wood and Heidi (Mark) Wavinak; grandchildren Jay (Allison) Clarke, Beth Clarke, Brian (Claire) Wavinak, Scott (Brenna) Wavinak, and Julie (Alex) Salcido; great-grandchildren Burton and John Clarke, Jane and Greta Wavinak, Jack and Charlotte Wavinak; sister Mary Lou Baylon; sister-in-law Phyl Erwin; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation: Tuesday, April 10 from 5-7 PM at Gearty-Delmore, 3960 Wooddale, St. Louis Park. Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, April 11 at 11 AM at St. Edward's, 9401 Nesbitt, Bloomington, with visitation an hour before and luncheon afterwards. Burial and military ceremony: Fort Snelling at 2 PM. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Emerald Crest Burnsville for the loving care provided to Bud.
