Dosen, Donald O. "Donnie" After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Donnie, 86 years old, went to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 15, 2018. He was surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Connie, who is so grateful for Donnie. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents Ole and Bobbie Dosen, his brother Karl and his wife June Dosen, and precious miscarried grand and great grand babies. He is also, survived by his son Mike (Joanne) Dosen and daughters Janet deJong and Nancy Dosen; grandchildren Robert (Nicole) Morris, Deb (Larry) York, Mike (Sara) Dosen, Katie (fiancé Matthew) Dosen, Kaycee (Chris) Walton, Danny deJong, Hayley deJong and Jake deJong; great grandchildren Abby, Tyler, Brady, Jolyn, Will, Mischa and Vesper; sisters-in-law Marion Goodman and Nancy(Bob) Passolt and many terrific nieces and nephews. Donnie loved God, his family and his country. He embraced the truth in the Bible and read it faithfully over and over. He valued and cherished his wonderful friends from work, school days, church, golf and others he met along his way. He found great satisfaction in his life long career running his grinding and rubber mold business which he partnered with his brother, Karl. In 1951, Donnie enlisted in the U.S. Army and soon was on the Korean front lines taking part in the assault of Hill 266, "Old Baldy", to retake it from enemy forces. He was seriously wounded but fought on enabling success of the mission. He was miraculously saved to spend 3 months in the Tokyo Army Hospital recovering from his wounds. For this, Donnie was awarded the Silver Star, Purple Heart and the Korean Silver Star. Donnie was a man with a gentle, sweet spirit and a quick and quiet wit. He used the gifts God gave him to help others. Donnie's love for his wife and family was unconditional. Donnie loved life. The family wants to thank all who prayed for Donnie (and family), also Dr. Steven Alberts' team at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Tomoaki Kato's team at Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital and the Allina Hospice angelic team. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Wooddale Church 6630 Shady Oak Road Eden Prairie MN 55344 or donor's preference. Celebration of Life service will be at Wooddale Church, Door #2, Eden Prairie, Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Visitation to follow service.
