If you flipped to MTV this summer, there's no way you could have missed "America's Best Dance Crew" -- it was on all the time. While the "American Idol"-like show could get a little hokey (with the likes of 'NSync's JC Chasez judging and Mario Lopez hosting), there was no denying the dance moves displayed by hip-hop crews from around the country. Season two's winner was a group of Las Vegas-based b-boys named Super CR3W (as in "Super Crew"). They'll perform at Epic on Saturday. (10 p.m. Sat. 110 N. 5th St., Mpls. $15-$20. 18 and older. 612-332-3742. www.epicmpls.com.)
Party like it's 1933 Did you know? Today is the 75th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition. Just imagine a life without cocktails. Yikes. On this day in 1933, the dreaded 18th Amendment was repealed, legalizing liquor (3.2 beer was deemed OK earlier that year). To celebrate, I suggest a night of ornate, full-bodied cocktails at two of the Twin Cities' best mixology joints: the Town Talk Diner and the La Belle Vie bar. Cheers.
