Beer on the West Bank

One year after moving to the Cedar-Riverside area, the Acadia Cafe will celebrate its anniversary with a weekend of what it does best: beer and bands. Sixteen bands will play Friday and Saturday. During tonight's music, the bar is offering $2 Rogue beers. On Saturday the bands start at 1:30 p.m. and run through the night. In between sets, different breweries will give half-hour introductions to their beers ($2 each). Also: Two people will get the chance to win "beer for a year" from Acadia (a beer a day for the next year).

7:30 p.m. today and 1:30 p.m. Sat. 329 Cedar Av. S., Mpls. 612-874-8702. acadiacafe.com.

Taps and taps

Rick and Andy Ausland used to spend their weekend nights performing street-corner concerts using just buckets (as drums) and their tap shoes. The two brothers have gone far beyond those humble beginnings. Last year they took their stage show, Buckets and Tap Shoes, to New York and even Russia. Now they're coming back to Minneapolis with an expanded show (which includes other musicians) at the Music Box Theatre. Expect a full night of bucket-drumming, tap dancing and live music. Adios, ice bar

Here's a fun way to say goodbye to winter. Chambers will celebrate the closing of its outdoor ice bar by literally destroying it. A long lineup of DJs, headlined by Jack Trash, will provide the soundtrack to the ice bar's demise. They're calling the night "Meltdown."
