NCAA WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS REGIONAL
When: Saturday, 4 p.m. • Where: Maturi Pavilion
Who: Six teams will participate in the regional, including the Gophers, currently 24th in the national rankings. No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 12 Kentucky, No. 13 Denver, Iowa and Iowa State also will compete, along with individual gymnasts from Air Force, Utah State, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-Stout and UW-Whitewater.
Road to the championship: The Minneapolis regional is one of six that will determine the field for the NCAA championships, April 20-21 in St. Louis. The top two teams in each regional, as well as the top two all-around competitors from each regional who are not on the advancing teams, will earn automatic berths. Individual event winners who do not qualify in the team or all-around categories also will advance to the NCAA championships in those events.
