Alexandria area: Anglers are using Lindy Rigs on Miltona at 35-40 feet to catch walleyes or bottom bouncers at 17-20 feet on Lake Reno and Lake Minnewaska. For good northern, bass or panfish, the Alexandria chain of lakes have been the best spots at 14-16 feet along weed edges. Lake Ida has produced good bass action using jig worms or crank baits. Lake Le Homme Dieu is providing anglers with good crappie action at 10-15 feet along weed lines.

Big Stone Lake: Anglers seeking walleyes are trolling the center of the lake with a bottom bouncer, spinner with night crawler or pulling crankbaits. Nice-sized perch are being caught during early mornings or late afternoons using night crawlers along Shady Beach, Grape Vine and the Goose Island area.

Ely area: Burntside Lake is giving up some nice-sized lake trout using minnows or crankbaits at 50-60 feet. Anglers catching walleyes at deeper depths are using night crawlers with bottom bouncers and spinner combos. Bass are hitting on soft tube baits or small crankbaits at shallow depths. Northerns are being caught using spinner baits and spoons along drop-offs at 10-15 feet.

Kabetogama-Namakan-Ash River: Some of the better spots for walleye action have been Martin Islands, Nashoda Point, Blind Ash Bay Mouth and the shoreline structures on Green and Larkin Islands. Anglers are using Lindy Rigs or bottom bouncers with leeches or crawlers at 18-25 feet. Northerns are taking spinner or buzz baits along weed edges on Daly Bay, Nebraska Bay, and Lost Bay.

Rainy Lake: Walleye action has picked up around the submerged reefs around the Brule Narrows at 25-35 feet using jig and minnow or leech. Most bays also are producing walleyes at 5-20 feet. Smallmouth bass action is productive along shorelines in Dove Bay or Lost Bay.

Willmar area: Early morning hours are providing anglers with good walleye action at 30-40 feet on Green Lake and 15-20 feet on Diamond and Eagle lakes. Walleye action has also been active on Wagonga Lake, Big Kandiyohi Lake, South Long Lake and Eagle Lake. Northerns, bass and panfish are biting on Nest Lake.
