MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Police Department has sworn in 52 new recruits in its third installment of 2014 trainees.

The department says the recruits who were sworn in Monday will undergo 6 ½ months of training and are expected to graduate in June 2015. Their class includes 45 men and seven women ranging in age from 21 to 51 years old.

Ten recruits were promoted from the rank of police aide, an apprenticeship program intended to train future department leaders.

Recruit Tazamishia LeFlore tells WISN-TV she is very excited to join the force and is looking forward to giving back to the community.
