I never read the sports section, but on Aug. 2, while waiting for my husband to finish the part of the paper I was waiting for, the headline and photo of Randall McDaniel caught my eye. I read the article, by Mark Craig, about McDaniel, and was encouraged and inspired. What a gentleman and man of foresight. After hearing about so many shenanigans by our "sports heroes," it was refreshing to read about a man who prepared for real life and is now teaching second-graders. Mr. McDaniel, I would be proud to have you teach any of my grandkids -- and I wish you all the best in your future. By the way, congratulations on your induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
