As an attorney and Wells Fargo customer, I am more than a little troubled by the careless, if not criminal, treatment of Peggy Greer (Star Tribune, Feb. 15). To take her nearly $700,000, and then bail out when she's broke, calls for something more than an apology. In our litigious society, people can't say what President Obama said: "I screwed up." But, with our $25 billion in their hip pocket, you'd think the bank would step forward instead of hiding behind "the judge said it was 'OK.'" The public is not quite as stupid as they think we are. If this happened to my mom, I'd be hopping mad, and I'd want the attorney general on the case. RICHARD BREITMAN, MINNEAPOLIS
