Veteran wide receiver Jarius Wright has not practiced with the team since the team's night practice in Mankato on August 6. In the meantime, he has watched fellow receiver Adam Thielen gobble up most of the first-team reps in three-wide sets alongside Stefon Diggs and Charles Johnson.

But Wright said today that he should return to practice sooner than later.

"I'm doing pretty good. I'll definitely be back to play in a preseason game. I'm not really sure which one yet," he said. "But I'm doing pretty good."

Since coach Mike Zimmer has not revealed the nature of his injury, Wright did not want to comment on what ails him. But he acknowledged that he was not wearing a sleeve on his lower left leg as a fashion statement.

"It kind of gives it away," Wright said, more or less confirming the obvious.

While Wright will miss his second preseason game on Thursday night and will go at least two weeks without snagging a pass with Bridgewater, he did not seem worried about a potential loss of chemistry considering he has caught more passes from Bridgewater than any other Vikings player.

"It definitely helps a lot," Wright said. "Just the chemistry that we already have together, I feel like he knows me as a receiver and I understand him as a quarterback. So the way we are, we [will] definitely [be] ready to go."
