Strong southwesterly winds will sweep the Desert Southwest on Sundayafternoon into Sunday evening.The highest gusts of 50 to 60 mph will whip the California High Desert eastwardto northern Arizona, southern Utah and southwestern Colorado.
Gusts will reach at least 40 mph over a wider swathe of the interior Southwestas far east as the southern High Plains.
As is often true in the Southwest, the winds on Sunday will make for trickydriving, especially for high-profile vehicles. The winds will stir up dust andsand with visibility locally reduced.
