The Gophers soccer team leaned on defense again Sunday but lost 1-0 to Indiana in the rain in Bloomington, Ind.
The Gophers gave up only four shots, and only two were on goal. The Gophers have not allowed more than a goal in a game since Sept. 22 against Maryland.
Offensively, the Gophers registered seven shots, three on goal.
"Consistency is what we're trying to drive towards," senior co-captain Nikki Albrecht said. "We didn't execute like we know we can. We didn't play up to our Minnesota caliber."
Indiana's Chandra Davidson scored the game-winner in the 36th minute. It marked the first goal given up by Maddie Nielsen in over 200 minutes, since Sept. 27 against Penn State.
In the past four games the Gophers have allowed only 29 shots, nine shots on goal and two goals.

• A Gustavus player was tied for the individual lead and the Gusties team was in first place after the first round of the MIAC men's golf championships. Gustavus' Max Ullan led with a 1-over-par 73 at Ridges at Sand Creek, tied with Gage Stromme of Concordia (Moorhead). The Gusties' team total of 13-over 301 put them four strokes ahead of Concordia, St. John's and St. Thomas. The tournament will conclude with two rounds Monday.
• The Gophers women's golf team finished 14th at the Princess Anne Invitational in Virginia Beach, Va., totaling 892 strokes over three rounds. Junior Joanne Free was the Gophers' top finisher, tying for 31st at 8 over par after a 74 Sunday. LSU and Virginia Tech tied for the victory at 843.
